Thomas Cook, Co-Founder and CIO
Thomas has a background in both mechanical and electrical engineering with a focus on automated assembly and industrial robotics, and is considered an industry level battery expert and innovator. He is frequently engaged both at an executive level and with senior R&D staff at Fortune 500 companies in consulting roles as well as with leading battery manufacturers. Thomas has over 13 years of experience in battery/EV/BMS engineering, and has designed battery packs, hybrid drive controllers, and battery management systems for NASA, DoD, and Formula 1. Thomas holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Prior to founding Lithiumstart, Thomas worked at Zero Motorcycles as a battery and motive engineer, and for the University of California deploying nanotechnology fabrication systems. Christopher Cook, Co-Founder and CEO
Christopher has served as the CEO of Lithiumstart for the past 4 years, and has an extensive background in management strategy and program management in large organizations both in the private and government sectors, in addition to 14 years of experience with marketing strategy, total cost of ownership and financial modeling, and intellectual property development. Prior to joining Lithiumstart in 2010, Chris spent 7 years at Visa, Inc in the Global Business Intelligence Division. Christopher holds a BA in Economics from UCLA. Rich Schroeder, COO
Rich joined Lithiumstart in May 2013. He brings a unique combination of strategic planning and operational execution experience. He has lead two companies through the transition from technology based startup to full rate production and ultimately positioning the businesses for sale. After selling a small private company to General Dynamics in 1999, Rich served as General Manager of that division growing the business from $3M to $50M annual revenue over 13 years. Rich brings over 30 years of experience in Finance, Production Operations, Marketing, Contracts, Engineering, and Technology development primarily in the DOD sector. Prior to General Dynamics, Rich was Director of Marketing and Programs at Versatron, a small business specializing in ultra-high performance servo systems. Rich started his career with Westinghouse Marine Division where he contributed in a variety of rolls including Systems, Design and Manufacturing Engineering as well as manager of a major subcontractor providing technical and security services.
