Lithiumstart Wins Multi-year US Missile Defense Agency Energy Storage System (ESS) Contract
Lithiumstart has been selected for award of a two year long project for a next generation megawatt class Energy Storage System for the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The Phase II project follows a successful Phase 1 effort, and will deliver militarized hardware for flight testing in 2016 for airborne laser defense systems. Lithiumstart will work with various National Labs, UAV airframe Primes, and Payload contractors and manage initial system integration efforts for the laser power source. The MDA ESS is based on Lithiumtart's proven commercialy BluFlex ESS and BMS platform already deployed around the world.
