NOAA selects Lithiumstart to develop solar charging system for new generation of SCOOP weather buoys
Lithiumstart has been selected by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to develop a lithium ion battery and solar charging system to power the National Weather Service's next generation of weather buoys. The development program is run by the National Data Buoy Center from the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. See NOAA's worldwide fleet of buoys here. The prototype battery is shown below in a custom waterproof housing with an integrated solar charger and BMS.
